Com.Mukund Kulkarni worked for Merck, GC Member, FMRAI & Joint General Secretary, TMSRU retired on 8th December, 2016. TMSRU felicitated and presented Memento for his contribution to Trade Union Movement. Meeting was organized on 5th December, 2016 at Hyderabad, which was presided by Com.A Nageswara Rao, Vice President, TMSRU. Com.AG Rajamohan, WCM, FMRAI & General Secretary, APMSRU was the main Speaker, Com.I Raju Bhat, WCM, FMRAI & General Secretary, TMSRU, Com.K Sunil Kumar, WCM, FMRAI & Treasurer, TMSRU, Com.PVSA Prasad, Secretary, TMSRU, Com.KSS Gupta, Secretary, TMSRU and others addressed. Secunderabad Subunit Functionaries also presented Memento, Mrs.Parimala Kulkarni presented a poem on Com.Mukund Kulkarni, which was the highlight of the programme. TMSRU Functionaries attended the programme with their family members and concluded with high Tea. Com.Mukund Kulkarni was born to Smt and Sri K G Kulkarni on 8th December, 1958 at Gulbarga, Karnataka, he has done schooling in Nrupatunga, Degree at New Science College at Hyderabad and Marketing and Sales Management PG Diploma from Bhavan’s College, Hyderabad. He started his career as Medical Representative in Lupin at Nellore on 26th August, 1979, later joined Merck on 1st January, 1981 at Nizamabad and was transferred on 1st January, 1983 to Hyderabad. In Nellore Comrade was attracted to left movement due to his relationship with Dr Jetti Sesha Reddy, Peoples Poly Clinic, during that period membership was not taken by Nellore Branch for Probationers. In Nizamabad APMSRA did not exist, so he was instrumental in forming Friends Association comprising of Medical Representatives, during that period Raptakos Brett Movement started. He was booked for organizing protest programme against a Badli worker. Due to police case, his probation was extended and was warned by Merck management. Later the case was withdrawn by the management and his services were confirmed. Became member at Hyderabad in 1983 and since then was Office Bearer in various capacities till date. Meanwhile he started mobilizing Merck field workers and moved across the Country. He was elected as All India Convenor in 1985 and continues till date. Merck management offered promotion several times, having refused they issued a letter saying “your career in Merck stands frozen and you will never be promoted in Merck”. In January, 2004 was victimized and transferred to Bijapur, with the intervention of FMRAI Comrade was retransferred back in 2007. Com.Mukund Kulkarni was married to Smt Parimala Kulkarni. Teacher at Nrupatunga School at Hyderabad on 6th July, 1988 at Raichur, he has Daughter married and settled in Bengaluru and Son working in HP at Bengaluru. Raptakos, Cipla and Themis issues were the most burning issues which motivated him to vigorously involve in Trade Union Movement. Comrade is active Yoga Trainer, trains people free of Cost including the staff of 10TV, a Telugu News Channel, he is also associated with Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in running of Generic Stores.
